Falcons Take Gold in Nova Scotia

The Holy Spirit Falcons traveled to Nova Scotia this past weekend to take part in the Central Kings Gator Classic High School Tournament. The Falcons went 3 and 1 in the round robin topping Central Kings (Host) 4-2 Friday night with goals from Keegan Hynes, Ryan Morrissey, Morgan Cole potting 2 and Curtis Winters getting the win, Ryan Morrissey was Player of the Game. On Saturday morning the Falcons outscored Bridgewater 7-4 with goals from Nick Gillespie, Braedan Griffiths, Cameron Pool, Keegan Hynes, Ryan Morrissey, Morgan Cole, Christian White and Nick O’Brien with the win and Player of the game honors. Saturday night the Falcons faced Bridgetown and won 5-3 with goals from Ryan Tobin, Braedan Griffiths, Morgan Cole, Cameron Poole, Noah Lambert and Curtis Winters with the win, Morgan Cole was Player of the Game. In the final game of the round robin the Falcons faced West Kings going down 2-0 but battling back to tie the game and move on to the finals, goals came from Ryan Holloway who blasted a shot on the Power Play and Keegan Hynes, Nick O’Brien was in net for the win and Adam Hynes was Player of the Game. In the finals the Falcons faced West Kings again. The Falcon opened the scoring at 4:34 of the first period by Cameron Poole and Ryan Morrissey added a second at 11:17 of the third to take the Championship 2-0, Nick O’Brien had the shootout. While in Nova Scotia the teams was able to take in a tour of HMCS Athabaskan a Canadian Navy Destroyer, Halifax Citadel and the Heritage Museum in Windsor.
